Coaching called to me. When I stumbled upon Integral Coaching, I knew it was the method that would give shape to that calling.
My first experience of the coaching discipline was in 2014 when I was supporting participants of Landmark Education’s Self-Expression and Leadership program. Subsequently, I certified as a Health Coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Most recently, I trained with Integral Coaching Canada (‘ICC’) and am now certified at the Professional level. This is the method that my coaching practice is grounded in.
ICC’s training is rigorous and challenging. I am tremendously grateful for the foothold into developmental coaching it has given me.
However, the training is never complete. I am always in some kind of training or another.
What happens in Integral Coaching™?
There are so many things I could share with you that go towards the transformation potential that integral coaching offers. But in the interests of brevity, I’ll frame my answer around something key in this method: the Coaching Program.
The Coaching Program, which is established between the first and second sessions of a four or five-month program, is the container for the developmental work in integral coaching. Each Program becomes the map of each individual client’s journey, utterly unique to them.
The Program is held as a sacred document in integral coaching. It is where we define and refine the Topic, and anchor ourselves around specific Developmental Objectives. It sets the path for the embodiment of change through carefully designed and tailored practices, that build as we move through the Program.
Integral coaching never feels static; however: the Program is alive and dynamic, in the sense that we fold in whatever is current at the time of the session (there are usually two weeks between sessions, and as we know, a lot can happen in two weeks.)
The integral coaching journey as a whole is profound and beautiful work, that involves a lot of letting go and the willingness to see and do things differently. My clients tell me that they feel held and supported, as well as challenged and a little stretched.
To hear a little bit more, here is a short video I made about Integral Coaching™.
Who’s it for?
Integral coaching is appropriate for anyone with an understanding of their developmental work (i.e. their Coaching Topic). I work with all kinds of clients and topics.
